Often I get asked, “Just what is it that you do, anyway?” I recently had the opportunity to answer that question for the SACS Board Members. I was able to share with them my goal of helping to encourage and inspire cancer caregivers by sharing many ways to help them cope with the difficult task of being a cancer caregiver while offering tips to encourage their loved one, as well. SACS is the Sparta Area Cancer Support Group.
This group provides multiple ways of helping to support area families stricken with cancer. Among some of their means of helping are by providing financial assistance and transportation for treatments. They also provide financial donations to both of the large area hospitals in support of cancer research. Administrative costs are kept to a bare minimum to allow the maximum support per dollar to be provided families fighting cancer and cancer research projects.
I told them about my book, “Cocoon of Love for Cancer Caregivers: Get Through the Tough Times” and gave each of them a copy. I also presented them with a check from our November fundraiser, where we pledged to give SACS 10% of our November royalties from the Amazon sales of that book. I’d like to give a big Thank You to all who supported this fundraiser by helping spread the word and by purchasing the book!
The SACS Board of Directors has asked me to come to the SACS Cancer Walk Fundraiser on Friday, August 5th 2016. We look forward to being there for this great fundraiser to help those in our community fighting cancer. We hope that as many of you as possible can attend and support this worthwhile event. And…if you do, please stop by and see me! More will follow on this event as it draws closer.
